Bounded by the Don River on the west and north and Coxwell Avenue on the east, “Greektown” or “the Danforth” is located in Toronto’s east end and boasts one of the largest Greek populations in the country. With pricey real estate blanketing areas across Toronto and the GTA, the housing prices in the Danforth Community are relatively affordable compared to some of the other neighbourhoods in the downtown core. The influence of the Greek community in the Danforth is welcoming and vibrant, attracting families and homebuyers young and old looking to move to this part of town.
Gala Developments is a prominent developer in the Greater Toronto Area that often requires the services of a knowledgeable builder and construction manager to ensure project completion. Gala sought to supplement the already vibrant Danforth community by building a 10-story residential condominium in the heart of the community at 2359 Danforth Ave. With 140 spacious one and two-bedroom suites, the building will serve the increasing demand for housing while offering an aesthetically stunning visual to complement the area. Gala needed an experienced high-rise residential construction manager to take on the project.
With a host of construction managers to choose from, Gala approached Corebuild Construction Ltd. (“Corebuild”) as a potential builder for their project and asked us to provide budgeting for their high-rise residential project on Danforth Avenue in Toronto. Gala understood that due to the extensive experience of Corebuild’s principals and key project personnel, particularly as a residential builder and construction manager, Corebuild would be the right choice. After multiple pre-construction meetings, Corebuild and Gala entered into a construction management contract, solidifying the mutual intent to move forward with the Danny Danforth Condominiums project.
The project is currently 75% complete. The building is fully enclosed as the sub-trades continue to progress on finishings inside the suites and common areas. We at Corebuild look forward to the substantial completion of the project and seeing condominium buyers move into their new homes in a high-demand area. This will surely be a feature project for Gala Developments and a standout in the heart of Greektown.
