Construction Safety Week

Construction Safety Week

During this past #constructionsafetyweek, the industry came together to discuss what can be done to continue to improve our approach to health and safety. The main theme for this year was “safety is the foundation and cornerstone of everything we do.”

It is through this belief that we ensure that everyone on site understands the expectations of working safely, to always be cognizant of potential hazards, and that the decisions we make impact ourselves, colleagues, and our loved ones. As we continue to improve on the policies and programs we have created and supplemented our safety culture is reinforced and this ensures that everyone goes home safely at the end of the day.

At the beginning of 2020, we faced a global pandemic. The COVID-19 pandemic not only impacted construction but all industries. Having to develop and implement new guidelines to mitigate possible contagion of COVID-19 has added to the traditional guidelines and policies that were always in force for general construction work. We continue to learn how important it is to always continue to refer to the most current information available in an effort to stay abreast of any new developments.

Mental Health
As a company we also focused on the mental health of all our employees, subcontractors, consultants, advisors and their family members. The ordinary routine that construction generally demands of us can be straining enough on one’s mental health however the added burden of family issues, finances, societal issues and now the COVID-19 pandemic can have a significant impact on a person’s mental health. During these trying times our company can be a useful support group to strengthen and improve the mental health of our team as a whole.

Final Thoughts
And so, with that being said, we at Corebuild consider safety and the well-being of our employees, clients and subcontractors to be fundamental to our success as a company.
As we conclude #constructionsafetyweek, our commitment to safety never wavers. We take this opportunity to thank our health and safety team, and all our employees who strive to work safe every day!
